One thing I don’t get is why everyone makes each-other fruitcake even though nobody likes it, and then everyone is too POLITE to tell the person who made it for them that they don’t like it, so then the person who made the fruitcake assumes that the person who was too polite to say that they didn’t like fruitcake likes fruitcake, so now the person who made the fruitcake keeps making fruitcake for the person who they think likes it but actually doesn’t.

THEN the person who is now getting a bunch of fruitcake that they don’t want has to find a way to dispose of the fruitcake that they are too nice to throw out, so the person with tons of fruitcake now tries to give people fruitcake, and, of course, they are all too nice to say no to the fruitcake so now the person with tons of fruitcake thinks that THEY like fruitcake.

And it goes on and on until everyone has unwanted fruitcake that then proceeds to go bad and be thrown out after the Christmas season
