HEARTBREAK

-Liam Odynsky

I turn the even the strongest to slobs,

Even the small suffer at my grasp,

I touch everyone at least once in their life,

I have even murdered at times.

I am the cause of half the world’s worries,

And half the world’s fears,

And even more often,

Half the world’s tears.

I touch throws you into a pit,

And if I hold on for too long,

You can never get out.

I have reduced soldiers to blubbering messes,

No more impressive than a long dead rat,

I am the cause of much hatred,

And the cause of much pain,

I am your nightmares,

I am heartbreak.
